On the afternoon of the 28th, a fire broke out at a large church in Guro-gu, Seoul, causing about 4,000 worshippers to evacuate.
According to the Guro Fire Station in Seoul, the fire started around 3:40 PM in the ceiling of the first-floor lounge of a large church located in Gung-dong, Guro-gu.
Approximately 4,000 people attending the service evacuated outside the church. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
The fire burned part of the distribution panel of a heating device in the first-floor ceiling and was completely extinguished by 4:16 PM, 36 minutes later.
The fire authorities believe the fire was caused by overheating of the distribution panel due to the operation of the heating device and are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
