Magnitude 4.8 Earthquake Strikes Tokyo, Japan... No Tsunami Warning Issued

The Japan Meteorological Agency reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 occurred in Tokyo at around 9:03 AM on the 28th.

Due to this earthquake, a seismic intensity of 4 was detected in the 23 wards of Tokyo and the eastern part of Kanagawa Prefecture. The epicenter was estimated to be 80 km deep in Tokyo Bay, located off the coast of Tokyo.

A seismic intensity of 4 means most people are startled, and ceiling-hung lights shake significantly. NHK reported, "There is no tsunami warning due to this earthquake."
