This event, focused exclusively on the secondary battery sector, gathered about 1,000 participants including Mayor Lee Kang-deok, Vice Chairman of the City Council Kim Il-man, POSTECH Vice President Kim Jong-gyu, Sunrin University President Kwak Jin-hwan, and other officials, as well as university, college, and high school students and young job seekers from across the country, demonstrating strong interest in K-Battery.
The event began with a performance marking the opening of the expo and was divided into ▲Recruitment Consultation Booth ▲Employment Consulting Booth ▲Event Booth. LG Energy Solution presented its corporate talent profile and recruitment plans for the first half of the year.
At the recruitment consultation booths, leading secondary battery companies such as LG Energy Solution, EcoPro BM, POSCO Future M, Lotte Energy Materials, SK Ecoplant, Dawon Chemical, Korea Yumikorea, and PNT, along with small and medium-sized enterprises, provided job seekers with one-on-one focused mentoring on job roles and talent profiles, as well as various information for job application support.
Additionally, various employment consulting programs related to job applications were conducted, including individual resume clinics, interview clinics, and job consulting. Various event booths such as personal color diagnosis tests, stamp tours, and life photo booths were also operated to offer participants diverse experiences and enjoyment.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, “I hope this event served as an opportunity for companies to secure talent and for young people to succeed in employment in the secondary battery field. Moving forward, we will foster a dynamic ecosystem through organic cooperation among industry, academia, research, and government to nurture customized talent for secondary battery companies and transform Pohang into an innovative secondary battery city attracting the best talents.”
Last year, the city attracted a specialized complex and secured a record investment of 7.4 trillion KRW from secondary battery-related companies. It also led South Korea’s industrial innovation by being the first nationwide to be selected four consecutive times as an excellent battery regulatory free zone.
Following last year’s attraction of the specialized complex, Pohang City plans to lead regulatory improvements that hinder battery industry growth by securing a global battery innovation free zone this year. The city aims to foster an ecosystem where large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises grow together and global companies can emerge locally.
