Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) announced on the 24th that Isunsin-daero (total length 1.6 km, 4 to 8 lanes) connecting Jung-gu and Dong-gu within the Busan Port North Port redevelopment site will open on the 31st.

Since the North Port redevelopment project plan was finalized in 2008, BPA has promoted the construction of connecting bridges and other upper infrastructure such as roads, and completed partial construction related to the project in 2023. The section to be opened this time is the 1.6 km section of Gwang-ro 3-1 (Isunsin-daero) passing through the North Port redevelopment project area.

With the opening of Isunsin-daero, it will connect to the road adjacent to the already opened Busan Port International Passenger Terminal and is expected to greatly contribute to alleviating chronic traffic congestion near Jung-gu and Dong-gu in Busan.

The related construction cost amounted to approximately 182.2 billion KRW.

At this opening, only the road section connecting Jung-gu Yeonan Pier Samgeori to Dong-gu will be opened, and later, the No. 2 Cha-do Bridge (Opera Bridge), which connects to the North Port back road (underpass), will be opened in connection with Chungjang-daero upon completion of construction.

Jeon Seong-hoon, head of the Port Regeneration Project Group at BPA, said, “With the opening of Isunsin-daero, accessibility to the North Port redevelopment project area for Busan citizens will improve, and the use of waterfront parks and marinas, which have been open and operating since last year, is expected to become more active. We will also make every effort to promote the remaining projects of the North Port redevelopment project.”
