On that day, President Yoon visited the Seocheon Special Market fire site, which was not part of his official external schedule, to receive a report on the damage and personally inspect the scene. Chairman Han arrived at the site first to greet President Yoon, and the two received a briefing together from Kwon Hyuk-min, head of the Chungnam Fire Headquarters, on the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.

President Yoon expressed his gratitude to the firefighters who extinguished the fire without any casualties despite the coldest weather of the year, according to a written briefing by Kim Soo-kyung, spokesperson for the Presidential Office. Earlier that day, President Yoon had instructed the Minister of the Interior and Safety and the Fire Agency Chief to "mobilize all available personnel and equipment to do their best in extinguishing the fire."

At the lobby of a nearby first-floor store, President Yoon met with representatives of merchants and said, "You must be deeply distressed with the holiday approaching. We will provide support as quickly as possible so that you can resume business immediately." He also told Lee Sang-min, Minister of the Interior and Safety, who accompanied him, "The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Seocheon County should actively cooperate and provide immediate support for what is needed," Kim said.

Since President Yoon and Chairman Han visited the Seocheon fire site together and then took the presidential train back to Seoul, there is speculation that the recently surfaced tensions between President Yoon and the Presidential Office and Chairman Han and the People Power Party have entered a reconciliation phase. This comes just six days after Chairman Han mentioned Kim Kyung-yul’s candidacy for Mapo-eul in Seoul on the 17th, which sparked controversy over 'sacheon' (private recommendation).

Regarding the allegations of Kim Geon-hee’s receipt of luxury bags, Committee Member Kim also referenced Marie Antoinette, the former queen of France. Chairman Han drew a line from the pro-Yoon lawmakers’ stance that they were 'caught in a trap,' saying it was "a matter to consider from the public’s perspective," which led to conflict. During this process, President Yoon reportedly targeted Chairman Han by mentioning 'fraudulent bidding' in nominations and even conveyed a resignation request through Secretary General Lee Gwan-seop. Chairman Han officially refused to resign, which escalated the situation. A Presidential Office official said, "Since President Yoon met Chairman Han at the site today, the current (conflict) situation will likely be resolved."
