KOTRA will hold the '2024 Industry-Specific Investment Attraction Strategy Briefing' at its headquarters on the 24th, inviting local governments.
This briefing is organized to share this year's investment attraction outlook and strategies and to strengthen cooperation in investment attraction between Invest KOREA (IK), the national investment attraction agency, and local governments.
In the morning, IK's industry specialists will introduce the 2024 investment attraction outlook and strategies for 10 industrial sectors, including information and communications, biohealth, semiconductors and displays, and future cars and batteries.
In the first session, Huh Nan-yi, a researcher at the law firm Kwangjang, will present on the topic of "Investment Attraction Strategies Responding to the Global Supply Chain Restructuring." Following this, Yang Geun-mi, an environmental officer dispatched from the Ministry of Environment to IK's Comprehensive Administrative Support Center, will present on "Environmental Information Disclosure Systems That Foreign Investment Attraction Officers Should Know." Various topics will also be covered, including "Attraction Plans for Domestic Return Companies" for U-turn companies returning from overseas to Korea and "Plans to Expand Collaboration Between IK and Local Governments."
In the afternoon, an investment cooperation consultation session will be held. Individual consultations will be conducted between industry specialists and officials from local government investment attraction departments.
Kim Tae-hyung, CEO of IK, stated, "To achieve this year's investment attraction goal of 35 billion dollars, it is necessary to strategically utilize opportunities arising from global supply chain restructuring, carbon neutrality, and DX transformation triggered by AI." He added, "Throughout the year, we will further strengthen investment attraction cooperation with local governments through information sharing and joint investment attraction projects."
