On the 21st, the Democratic Party announced through a press release, "Party leader Lee Jae-myung will hold a talent recruitment ceremony on the 22nd," confirming this plan.
Regarding former President Gong, they explained, "He will contribute to the party's economic policy production, including creating new growth engines."
Former President Gong, a former reporter for Munhwa Ilbo, served as head of strategy development, head of overseas policy, and head of public relations (vice president) at Hyundai Motor Company, and later as president in charge of strategic planning. Since last year, he has been working as an advisor to Hyundai Motor Company.
Following the People Power Party's recruitment of Samsung Electronics advisor Ko Dong-jin, the Democratic Party's recruitment of former President Gong means that two figures from major corporations are entering politics side by side.
Advisor Ko joined Samsung Electronics as a regular employee and served as head of the development office and CEO of the mobile division (formerly the IM division).
