Jeonbuk Governor Kim Gwan-young: "The Priority Is the Well-being of the Residents"

Executive Meeting on the 19th... Focusing on 'Communication and Cooperation among Public Welfare, Health, Provincial Council, and Education Office'

Kim Gwan-young, Governor of Jeonbuk Province, emphasized at the executive meeting on the 19th that the primary goal the provincial government must consider is a better life for the residents and ensuring that the residents live well together.


According to the province, on that day, Governor Kim encouraged the team by saying, "We have written a success story proving that if our province takes responsibility, we can accomplish it well," referring to the overnight completion of data conversion in preparation for the Jeonbuk Special Autonomous Province Eve Ceremony and inauguration.


He added, "Many residents have expressed pride and hope, and as their expectations are high, we bear even greater responsibility," and urged, "Please engage in your work meticulously and with a sense of urgency to reap the fruits of the opportunities granted to us."


Governor Kim ordered a people-centered provincial administration focused on "residents living well." He instructed to strategically design livelihood policies centered on actual beneficiaries and to establish an effective system that residents can tangibly feel through policies and other measures.

He also reviewed strengthening communication with the Provincial Council. While thoroughly preparing work reports by departments and bureaus, he asked to check the progress of proposals made through council members' legislative remarks and to communicate actively with the council.


He shared the outcomes of the business trip to the United States from the 8th to the 14th, including the achievement of setting up and operating the Jeonbuk Pavilion for the first time at CES 2024. The province plans to actively promote related projects to establish itself as a leader in the food tech and agri-tech sectors.


He also carefully reviewed the specialized high school development plan announced by the Ministry of Education on the 8th. The province intends to collaborate closely with the Office of Education to nurture talent considering the linkage with regional industries such as secondary batteries.


Meanwhile, he prayed for the repose of the late Team Leader Park Sang-gi, who passed away suddenly on duty on the 15th. Governor Kim encouraged, "Let us work diligently when working, rest properly when resting, watch over each other, and move forward together."
