The third-party new party 'Future Grand Alliance' has recruited lawyer Seol Joo-wan, who served as the deputy chairperson of the Legal Affairs Committee in the Democratic Party of Korea, as its spokesperson. Spokesperson Seol emphasized, "I will move away from the criticism that reasonable criticism is labeled as 'internal betrayal' and engage in politics that truly meets the people's expectations."
On the morning of the 18th, Seol held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office and announced that he would leave the Democratic Party and join the Future Grand Alliance. The joint representatives Lee Won-wook, Kim Jong-min, Cho Eung-cheon, and Park Won-seok also attended the conference. Seol stated, "At some point, the words 'common sense' and 'rational' in politics have been interpreted as 'internal betrayal.' I have headed to the third party to pursue politics based on the common sense of the people, moving away from the politics where the two major parties only look at their strong supporters."

He continued, "The path the third party must take may be difficult and painful, but if it can play a role in changing the current political reality, we will overcome any hardship and adversity." He added, "If the people send warm interest and criticism to the third party, including the Future Grand Alliance, all members of the third party will strive to embody those hopes," emphasizing, "We will become a cornerstone in creating a political force that can give hope and expectations to the people."
At the press conference, figures from the Democratic Party in the Gyeongbuk region also declared their departure and joined the Future Grand Alliance. Lee Soo-gang, executive committee member of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Party, Kim Won-sik, chairman of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Party's Social Economy Committee, and Hwang Jae-seon, regional chairman of Yeongju-Yeongyang-Bonghwa-Uljin, stated, "The essence of regionalism is hate politics and factional politics," and added, "We will head to a zone of cooperation to break regionalism." They further said, "We, the Democratic Party politicians and regional committee members in Gyeongbuk, will not tolerate Representative Lee Jae-myung's mockery that 'what's the use of losing gracefully' and are leaving the party," pledging, "We will contribute to restoring politics and building a competent party."

After the press conference, when asked by reporters about the Future Grand Alliance's plans amid various pledges announced by parties ahead of the general election, Seol explained, "We plan to first announce a 'slogan' that the people can feel. We are also organizing policy areas and preparing to announce them one by one as soon as possible."
When former executive committee member Lee Soo-gang was asked whether he shared his position with local party members, he replied, "Elected members of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Party and executive committee members are deeply considering it. Probably, more people will join after the Future Grand Alliance is officially launched."
Meanwhile, spokesperson Seol was born in 1976, graduated from Chonnam National University with a degree in law, and completed graduate studies at Yeungnam University Law School. While working as a lawyer, he served as deputy spokesperson of the Democratic Party's election campaign public relations team and deputy chairperson of the Legal Affairs Committee. He became well-known through appearances as a panelist on various cable news and current affairs programs.
