The Department of Intelligent Mobility Convergence at Chonnam National University and the Gwangju Industry-Academia Convergence Foundation provided local talent with opportunities for global field visits through industry-academia cooperation.
The "Gwangju-Jeonnam Practical Innovation Talent Employment Plan Professional Workforce Training Course" is a practical education program aimed at fostering on-site practical talents reflecting automotive industry technologies and future car core technologies in collaboration with excellent local companies, with the goal of employment within the region.
This course was organized from January 10 to 13, with 19 students (including graduates) from Chonnam National University visiting Toyota Motor Corporation, Kitakyushu Industrial Academic Promotion Organization, West Japan Auto Recycle Co., Ltd. (hereinafter WARC), EV Motors headquarters, and other sites together with three automotive experts from industry, academia, and research.
The students had the opportunity to understand related technology trends and advanced technologies through communication with experts on site. They also confirmed the future direction of the automotive industry through seminars with the automotive experts from industry, academia, and research.
Participants in the program stated, "Through the overseas field visit, we were able to experience the current status and growth of the global automotive industry."
Lee Cheon-hwan, Director of the Gwangju Industry-Academia Convergence Foundation, said, "We will continue to provide support to establish a sustainable talent development system that supports the region's economy and industrial system through this program."
