A Korean Air passenger plane collided with a Cathay Pacific passenger plane at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, Japan, on the afternoon of the 16th.
According to local broadcasts, around 5:30 PM that day, the left wing of the Korean Air passenger plane moving on the ground runway at New Chitose Airport came into contact with the vertical tail wing of the Cathay Pacific plane. Although the accident occurred, it was confirmed that there were no injuries.
The Korean Air plane was carrying 289 people, including 276 passengers and 13 crew members. The Cathay Pacific passenger plane had not yet boarded passengers.
The airport fire brigade was prepared for any emergency, but there was no fuel leakage or fire from the planes.
