Forty-four percent of respondents answered former President Trump, while 35% said President Biden would win. Twenty-one percent were unsure.
However, when asked to choose the candidate they actually support, President Biden and former President Trump were tied at 43% each.
Regarding the Republican presidential primary results, a majority of 57% of respondents expected former President Trump to win. Among Republican supporters, 76% anticipated Trump’s primary victory. Sixty-five percent said they would support Trump if the primary were held today, showing strong backing. Even among moderate voters, a majority of 53% predicted Trump’s primary win, while 45% of Democratic supporters expected Trump to win the primary.
In fact, former President Trump reinforced the "Trump momentum" by placing first in the first caucus held in Iowa on the same day, ahead of former Ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
The poll was conducted from the 7th to the 9th of this month, surveying 1,593 U.S. citizens. The margin of error is 3.2 percentage points.
