Handonghun, Pursuing Recruitment of Kodongjin, Former Samsung Electronics President Who Led the 'Galaxy Myth'

The People Power Party is pushing to recruit Ko Dong-jin, former President of Samsung Electronics' IM Division, who created the 'Galaxy Myth.'

On the 11th, Park Jeong-ha, the party's chief spokesperson, announced to the press corps, "The recruitment of former President Ko Dong-jin was personally requested by Han Dong-hoon, the Emergency Response Committee Chairman, but nothing has been decided yet." Chairman Han also serves as the head of the talent recruitment committee.

Born in 1961, former President Ko graduated from Sungkyunkwan University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and joined Samsung Electronics in 1984. He rose through the ranks from product planning team leader and development director to CEO, earning a reputation as a self-made figure. He is especially recognized as a key figure who led the wireless business division and significantly contributed to the evolution of the current 'Galaxy' smartphones.

Former President Ko worked at Samsung Electronics until the end of 2021 and served as an advisor starting in 2022. Recently, he has been expanding his presence as a business expert, including giving lectures on EBS's 'Class E.'

If former President Ko joins the party, there is speculation that he may run in the 'Suwon Mu' district in Gyeonggi Province, where Samsung Electronics' headquarters is located. Suwon Mu is the district where National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo has announced he will not run.
