Kumho Construction announced on the 10th that it has set its management policy for this year as ‘strengthening internal capabilities’ and will focus on achieving zero major accidents and improving profitability.
In his New Year's address announced on the same day, Chairman Jo Wan-seok of Kumho Construction said, “The management policy for the new year is strengthening internal capabilities in a broad sense, and to achieve this, major accidents must be reduced to zero.” He emphasized, “Safety is the most influential factor for the company’s growth and survival, and under any circumstances, principles and processes must be strictly followed, thoroughly inspected, and confirmed to prevent any major accidents.”
He also stressed the importance of improving profitability. He said, “We must continuously improve profitability by reducing risks, while always quantifying risks to verify whether they are manageable.” He further explained, “A process must be established to ensure smooth cash flow, improve investment capacity, and strengthen the ability to respond to unexpected expenditures.”
Chairman Jo stated, “We plan to enhance brand competitiveness by improving corporate credit ratings and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings, and to increase corporate value by discovering highly profitable business sites.”
Since Chairman Jo’s appointment in December last year, Kumho Construction has consecutively won large public construction projects. These include the 272 billion KRW ‘Wolgok~Pangyo Double-track Railway Section 9 Subgrade Construction and Other Works’ and, on the 8th, the 224.2 billion KRW plant project ‘Gongju Natural Gas Power Plant Construction’.
