Samsung Electronics will showcase a 'new consumer experience centered on automobiles' with its subsidiary Harman at CES 2024, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 9th (local time) to the 12th. This involves enhancing vehicle software and hardware convenience and monitoring the driver's health status to take immediate action if there is any risk.
Since acquiring Harman in 2017, Samsung Electronics will, for the first time during CES, present automotive products developed with Harman at the Samsung Electronics exhibition. The automotive products showcased this time, including ▲Ready Upgrade ▲Ready Vision ▲Ready Care, incorporate Samsung Electronics' advanced technologies such as communications, displays, and chipsets, enhancing innovation and providing a differentiated in-vehicle experience.

원본보기 아이콘Ready Upgrade is a digital cockpit product that allows hardware and software upgrades. A digital cockpit refers to a device composed of digital electronic equipment controlling vehicle convenience functions in the front areas of the driver and passenger seats. Samsung Electronics and Harman first introduced it in 2018.
By using Ready Upgrade, drivers can easily perform software and hardware upgrades with a single click. In particular, the Ready Upgrade Advanced product, equipped with Samsung Electronics' latest system semiconductor, the Exynos chipset, offers faster speeds and supports various additional functions compared to the existing Ready Upgrade.
Ready Vision features a head-up display technology using augmented reality (AR) technology that provides various driving information on the front windshield of the vehicle. The Ready Vision QView, introduced for the first time this year, utilizes Samsung Neo QLED displays to use the entire lower part of the front windshield. Drivers can intuitively receive necessary information such as navigation and driving data through Ready Vision.
Ready Care, jointly developed by Samsung Electronics and Harman, is a solution that recognizes changes in the driver's condition, intervenes in driving as needed, and supports safety functions to help the driver maintain optimal driving conditions. It detects driver inattentiveness and provides situation-specific customized functions to help the driver focus on driving. It can also measure the driver's gaze and cognitive abilities in real-time using vehicle cameras and sensors.
Samsung Electronics explained, "By measuring the driver's heart rate and stress levels, the system can change the in-car environment through the air conditioning system, warning messages, and sounds when ventilation is needed around the driver." They added, "Samsung Health features applied in the Samsung Galaxy Watch are integrated into the car infotainment system to support personalized safe driving and optimize the vehicle driving environment."
Samsung Electronics and Harman plan to combine Harman's connected car and car audio technologies, applied in more than 50 million vehicles worldwide, with Samsung's global technological leadership to provide a new 'consumer experience centered on automobiles.' They also stated, "This new consumer experience will not be limited to automobiles but will strengthen our position in the automotive electronics sector through synergy with various Samsung products."
