The Era of Smart Hiking Blossoms... Gijang-gun Establishes 'Trail DB Construction and Management Plan' for Ilgwangsan

Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) has successfully completed the “Establishment of Hiking Trail Database and Management Plan” for the Ilgwangsan area to enhance the convenience of hikers in the region and efficiently manage hiking trails.

Recently, with the expansion of forest zones in the area, an increase in the hiking population, and the widespread use of smart devices, the county promoted the “Establishment of Hiking Trail Database and Management Plan” to digitize hiking trail routes and related facilities, completing the project at the end of December last year.

This project targeted the Ilgwangsan area, which is most frequently used by local residents, and involved surveying hiking trail routes, safety facilities, and convenience facilities. Management tags and NFC tags were attached to signboards and facilities to build a hiking trail database.

Through this project, hikers can easily access information about hiking trails and various facilities using mobile devices and NFC tags, enabling safe and convenient mountain hiking. Additionally, the county expects to achieve systematic and professional management of hiking trails and facilities by utilizing the hiking trail database.

A county official stated, “This project marks the beginning of the ‘Smart Hiking Era,’ providing high-quality forest welfare to residents alongside the expansion of forest zones,” and added, “We will continue to promote projects to create a safe and comfortable hiking environment for residents.”

Gijang-gun plans to conduct the “Establishment of Hiking Trail Database and Management Plan” for the Dareumsan area this year and intends to expand the project annually to major hiking trails within Gijang-gun, such as Cheolmasan and Bulgwangsan.
