AI Startup DREP Supplies Image Generation Service 'DREP Art' to Hyundai Department Store Duty Free

Generative AI startup 'Drap' recently signed a contract to supply AI image generation services to Hyundai Department Store Duty Free.

AI startup Drap has consecutively signed B2B service supply contracts with Charancha, Coupang, Olive Young, and now Hyundai Department Store Duty Free within just one year of its founding. (Related article=[AI Revolution](52) "Solve product photography without going to the studio with 'DrapArt'")

The service developed by Drap, 'DrapArt,' recognizes the product type, tone, lighting, etc., from product photos and then generates new backgrounds, lighting, shadows, and even human models by reflecting the Korean text input by the user.

Hyundai Department Store Duty Free uses DrapArt's API to apply AI product reviews and AI selfie features on its own online site’s product review writing screen. This adds a fun element that allows newly generating backgrounds of product review photos or human faces.

The AI product review feature lets users select a specific country such as the US, Japan, Europe, or Southeast Asia when uploading product review photos, changing the photo background to a tourist attraction or element representing that country.

For example, if a user takes a bag review photo at home and selects Europe, the background will be changed to look as if the bag was photographed at the Eiffel Tower plaza. The bag remains the same, but the photo background changes to the Eiffel Tower.

The AI selfie feature replaces the customer's face in a selfie taken with the product with a virtual model’s face, generating a new image. This is selectively used by customers who are reluctant to reveal their faces online.

Lee Joo-wan, CEO of Drap, said, "We have focused on improving the quality of generated images, and the download rate of generated images has increased about twofold compared to the initial launch." He added, "We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase DrapArt services to various customers through this contract and consider it very meaningful."
