DK Board Co., Ltd., a specialized insulation material company based in Gwangju, has once again proven its excellence.

According to DK Board Co., Ltd. on the 16th, the 'Korea Architecture Industry Fair (KAFF) 2023,' a specialized exhibition for building materials and facilities hosted by the Korea Institute of Registered Architects and co-organized by the institute and COEX, was held from the 11th to the 13th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul.

At this exhibition, DK Board introduced measures to minimize defects such as condensation and mold inside buildings after construction caused by shrinkage and warping due to the immaturity of insulation materials, receiving high praise from architects. It was reaffirmed as the best quasi-noncombustible insulation material that also ensures fire safety.

At this exhibition, which saw massive participation from architects and construction industry professionals nationwide, DK Board showcased significant improvements addressing the drawbacks of combustible insulation materials and dryvit exterior finishing methods, which have been pointed out in recent large-scale fire incidents.

This achievement was possible because DK Board is the only company in Korea operating a primary forced aging room and a secondary large aging room, realizing insulation material performance aged for more than six weeks as emphasized by the Korea Passive House Association, leading to its selection as a material partner.

In particular, DK Board's excellence led to a remarkable achievement of being installed in over 130 school construction sites nationwide last year and this year.

Moreover, in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, where fires have been continuously occurring, the material has been installed in 40 schools so far this year, attracting significant attention from architects and construction professionals nationwide.

Additionally, in February, during a full inspection of quasi-noncombustible insulation materials following a welding fire at Daerim Middle School under the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, DK Board was the only company to receive a suitable rating for three consecutive times.

DK Board has proven its excellence at various construction sites over time.

In January and April, it obtained the first domestic test report for wet and dry physical model tests under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Notification No. 2022-84, and it also became the first in the 50-year history of EPS insulation materials to receive performance certification (EPC) from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Furthermore, through over ten years of technological development and investment, DK Board’s product DK Board-X, which integrates four patented technologies and one technology deposit, offers maximized insulation effects, excellent workability, and enhanced quasi-noncombustible performance compared to conventional expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation materials. It is also recognized as an ‘eco-friendly’ product with zero emission of first-class carcinogens (formaldehyde) commonly released from organic building finishing materials.

Han Gap-ho, CEO of DK Board, stated, “To address the difficulties at construction sites concerned about the thickness of EPS insulation materials, we introduced a new composite insulation product called 'Hyper Board' in collaboration with Prime Enertech Co., Ltd., which has received much positive response and interest.” He added, “We will focus on presenting differentiated performance and products to firmly establish ourselves as a leading company in the quasi-noncombustible insulation material market.”

Meanwhile, DK Board plans to showcase its core quasi-noncombustible EPS insulation materials at the Honam region’s largest architecture and interior exhibition, the ‘Gwangju Kyunghyang Housing Fair,’ held at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju from the 19th to the 22nd.
