Welcoming the autumn season, perfect for exercising, Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) has organized an autumn sports day so that the whole family can enjoy nostalgic games and spend happy times together.

The district announced on the 9th that the ‘Baby Birds’ Play Festival (hereafter Play Festival)’ will be held on the 13th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Songpa Women’s Soccer Stadium.

This Play Festival, hosted by the Songpa-gu Home Daycare Association, is expected to have about 350 infants from 23 home daycares in the district, along with parents and childcare staff, totaling 800 participants.

As this event is being held for the first time in four years since COVID-19, retro games and various experience booths have been prepared so that the whole family can run around excitedly and create memories.

The sports day games include four types: ▲Large Ball Rolling ▲Ball Throwing ▲Horseback Battle ▲Ball Carrying. The games will be held as team competitions, providing infants and toddlers with a special experience alongside their parents, and giving parents a chance to recall childhood memories.

There are a total of 18 experience booths. Participants can enjoy play experiences themed around jungle, fishing, and trees; sports bounces such as basketball and soccer; large air bounces shaped like Pororo, Avengers, and dinosaurs; as well as making wooden tops, play balls, and family photo booths.

Considering that many infants and toddlers will attend, the district is fully committed to safety measures, including assigning safety personnel to prevent lost children and respond to emergencies, as well as deploying emergency rescue vehicles and nurses.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “Songpa-gu, which ranks first in the number of births in Seoul, is putting administrative efforts into creating a child-friendly environment for infant care. I hope the Play Festival will be an opportunity to cherish the importance of family, and we will continue to strive to make Songpa-gu a happy place for infants, parents, and childcare staff.”

Starting with the 8th term of the civilian administration, the district is focusing on creating a stable childcare environment that parents can trust, aiming to be a city good for raising children. This includes expanding support for daycare tuition and snack fees, increasing welfare benefits, holiday leave pay, and long-term service allowances for childcare teachers, as well as operating native English classes at daycare centers to improve the quality of care and reduce private education burdens.
