Shin Yubin (Korean Air) - Jeon Jihee (Mirae Asset Securities) pair (1st place) won the 'North-South showdown' held on the 2nd and brought South Korea its first Asian Games gold medal in table tennis in 21 years.

On the 2nd, at the Gymnasium of Hangzhou Archer Canal Sports Park in Hangzhou, China, during the women's doubles table tennis final of the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games, South Korea's Shin Yubin and Jeon Jihee secured the gold medal by defeating North Korea's Cha Suyong and Park Sukyung, celebrating their victory.

The Shin Yubin - Jeon Jihee pair defeated North Korea's Cha Suyong - Park Sugyeong pair (unranked) 4-1 in the women's doubles final of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games table tennis event held at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China.

This is the first time since the 2002 Busan Games that South Korean players have won a gold medal in table tennis at the Asian Games, following the men's doubles pair Lee Cheolseung - Yoo Seungmin and the women's doubles pair Seok Eunmi - Lee Eunsil.
