On the final day of the fencing events at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, the women's sabre and men's ?p?e teams each won bronze medals in the team competitions. The women's sabre team, composed of Yoon Jisoo, Hong Haeun (both from Seoul Metropolitan Government), Jeon Eunhye (Incheon Jung-gu Office), and Choi Sebin (Jeonnam Provincial Office), lost 42-45 to Japan in the team semifinals held on the 29th at the Electronic University Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China. In Asian Games fencing, both individual and team events award joint bronze medals to the semifinal losers.

The Korean women's sabre team aimed for their third consecutive gold medal at the Games but could not overcome the Japanese team. The women's sabre team final will be contested between Japan and Uzbekistan.


The men's ?p?e team, consisting of Kwon Youngjun (Iksan City Hall), Kim Jaewon (Chungbuk Fencing Association), Ma Segeon (Busan Metropolitan City Hall), and Son Taejin (Sejong City Sports Council), also secured a bronze medal in the team event.

In the semifinals against Japan, which featured the individual gold and silver medalists (Kano Koki and Komata Akira), they lost 34-45. The men's ?p?e team final will be between Japan and Kazakhstan.


Korean fencing concluded the Hangzhou Asian Games with a total of 6 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals, securing the overall championship in fencing. This marks their fourth consecutive overall victory since the 2010 Guangzhou Games.
