Women's sparring star Lee Da-bin (Seoul City Hall) easily secured a bronze medal at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
On the 28th, Lee Da-bin defeated Taiwan's Pan Yunz in the women's over 67kg sparring quarterfinals at the Lin'an Sports Culture Center in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, with a round score of 2-0 (9-5, 6-5) to advance to the semifinals.
In Asian Games taekwondo, there is no bronze medal match; both athletes who lose in the semifinals receive bronze medals.
Lee Da-bin will compete against Kazakhstan's Kansel Denis for a spot in the final.
Meanwhile, Lee Seon-gi (Suwon City Hall), who participated in the men's over 80kg category, lost in the round of 16 to Afghanistan's Ali Akbar Amiri with a round score of 0-2 (1-4, 8-9).
South Korea had won three gold medals in taekwondo sparring events up to the previous day. On the first day of the competition, the 24th, two gold medals were won in the poomsae events.
If Lee Da-bin wins, it will mark five consecutive days of gold medals in taekwondo events.
