Wadiz Teams Up with Daewon CI to Launch 'Manhwa and Content IP Business'

Funding platform Wadiz (CEO Shin Hye-sung) announced on the 14th that it has signed a strategic partnership with Daewon C.I., a domestic content specialist company. Daewon C.I. is a content specialist company distributing popular comics and magazines such as Slam Dunk, Suzume no Tojimari, One Piece, and Pok?mon, and is expanding its business areas from comic publishing to digital content, publishing, and IP (intellectual property) development.


This business agreement aims to expand business opportunities that can create synergy together, such as IP product development and funding launches. The two companies plan to connect various comic IPs owned by Daewon C.I. with Wadiz’s strong small manufacturers to promote funding launches and distribution more than five times annually.

From January to August this year, the funding scale in the 'Character & Goods' category on Wadiz grew by 134% compared to the same period last year. The number of participating supporters also increased by 90%. Notably, official goods of content with solid fandoms such as Suzume no Tojimari and Conan recorded funding amounts in the hundreds of millions of won.


Shin Hye-sung, CEO of Wadiz, said, "Comic content is a major interest keyword for 5.5 million Wadiz supporters and a growth engine leading funding in the creator sector. Through collaboration with Daewon C.I., we will diversely showcase IP goods and idea products that many fans have long desired."
