A Total of 600 Million Won Invested... Installation Completed Throughout the Entire Market

Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that it held the 'Tongbok Market Cooling Fog Completion Ceremony' in front of the Tongbok Market Customer Support Center in Tongbok-dong, Pyeongtaek City on the 9th.

The 'Cooling Fog' is a system that sprays fine water particles to lower the surrounding temperature. The installation of the Cooling Fog system at Tongbok Market involved a total budget of 600 million KRW, including 480 million KRW from the provincial government, 90 million KRW from the city government, and 30 million KRW from the merchants' association.

The Cooling Fog system was installed along a 700-meter section within the market, and with this project, the entire arcade area of Tongbok Market is now equipped with this system, including the section installed in 2020.

Meanwhile, about 100 local residents attended the completion ceremony along with Jeong Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek, Yoo Seung-young, Chairperson of the Pyeongtaek City Council, National Assembly members Yoo Ui-dong and Hong Ki-won, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly members Kim Jae-gyun, Seo Hyun-ok, Kim Geun-yong, and City Council member Lee Yoon-ha.

The Cooling Fog system creates a comfortable environment during hot summers by lowering the surrounding temperature. The Tongbok Market Merchants' Association invested a total of 600 million KRW (480 million KRW from the provincial government, 90 million KRW from the city government, and 30 million KRW from the merchants' own funds) to build the Cooling Fog system along a 700-meter section.

With this project, the Cooling Fog system has been introduced throughout the entire arcade area of Tongbok Market, including the section installed in 2020.
