"Don't Worry About What to Listen To" Music Platform Melon Launches New Service

Melon is launching new services that enhance user convenience and recommend music tailored to their tastes.

Kakao Entertainment announced on the 4th that its music platform Melon has opened two simple new music listening services, 'Mixup' and 'Music Wave,' which ease the burden of song selection.

Mixup is a service where you select just one song, and the next track automatically plays. It allows users who usually don't have time to choose music or find it difficult to select songs to enjoy music easily.

It shows songs you might like based on your listening history, and once you pick one track, it quickly selects similar songs. Since it plays separately from your existing playlists, you can enjoy music conveniently without hassle.

Music Wave is a service that lets users quickly and easily find channels matching their tastes and listen to music.

There are various themed channels such as 'POP to brighten your commute' and 'Raise your travel tension,' as well as artist-related channels like 'Global stars visiting Korea' and '4th generation girl idol battle.'

Each channel supports continuous music playback like a radio without the need for users to add separate playlists. If there is no channel matching your preferred theme, you can request to create a new one.

Users who join the same channel can share their impressions through chat, and various activities such as 'exchanging jokes' and 'text group singing' are also available.

Additionally, a 'Smart Playlist' feature has been added that allows users to manage playlists identically on mobile and Windows PC. You can continue listening to recently played songs or playlists you created seamlessly across your smartphone and PC.

Jo Eun-young, head of Melon Platform Planning at Kakao Entertainment, said, "Through Mixup and Music Wave, we aim not only to improve convenience in song selection but also to provide various ways of enjoying music, including building bonds among music lovers."
