AI audio company Supertone announced on the 30th that the voice of BJ Maskgirl was created using their voice morphing technology.


'Maskgirl' is a work depicting the story of office worker Kim Momi, who has a complex about her appearance and hides her face with a mask while working as an internet broadcaster BJ 'Maskgirl.' Actresses Go Hyun-jung, Nana, and Lee Hanbyeol played the role of Kim Momi in a triple cast, drawing attention.


Supertone generated a new voice unique to BJ Maskgirl to portray Kim Momi's character, who transforms into a different personality when wearing the mask.


The voice of Maskgirl was created by analyzing and recombining various elements such as acting tone and timbre from the voices of Nana and Lee Hanbyeol, who played Kim Momi.


Lee Gyogu, CEO of Supertone, explained, "Since BJ Maskgirl shows a different personality from the existing roles, Supertone's technology was utilized to meet the production team's directorial intention that a third voice was necessary."


Kim Yonghoon, director of 'Maskgirl,' said, "Supertone's technology was used to maintain the character connectivity, which is an important feature of this work."


Supertone, an audio company subsidiary of HYBE, provides AI-based audio technology across various fields such as K-pop, dramas, and movies.
