50-Year-Old Man Chases 20s Man into Men's Restroom and Grabs His Buttocks

A man in his 50s who followed a man in his 20s into a restroom and groped his buttocks and body was sentenced to prison.

On the 26th, Judge Kim Dohyung, Chief Judge of Criminal Division 1 at Chuncheon District Court Wonju Branch, announced that A (58), who was charged with forcible molestation, was sentenced to 8 months in prison with a 2-year probation. In addition, he was ordered to attend 40 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures.

A was prosecuted for following B (27), who entered a restroom at a traditional market in Wonju City around 6:15 p.m. on September 19 last year, and groping B’s buttocks with one hand and body with the other.

Judge Kim stated, "Considering the defendant’s court statement, the victim’s and witnesses’ testimonies, guilt is recognized. However, the sentence was determined taking into account that there is no prior record related to sexual violence."

He added, "It is judged that registering personal information and completing the sexual violence treatment program alone can have a preventive effect against recidivism," and said, "Such behavior must never be repeated."
