Busan City’s urban brand promotional pop-up exhibition ‘Big up!’ will be extended until September 8th, thanks to the enthusiastic support of visitors.
The exhibition is being held at Atelier Chikchikpokpok (formerly Haeundae Station History) and was originally scheduled to run from July 28th to August 27th.
Divided into four themes representing the letters ‘G’, ‘O’, ‘O’, and ‘D’ of Busan is Good, the exhibition reinterprets four distinctive characteristics and visions of Busan. It showcases various attractions promoting Busan’s new urban brand, including works by renowned illustrator Hong Wonpyo, media art, light sculptures, a selfie zone, merchandise displays, and interactive games.
The extension was decided to maximize the promotional effect of the urban brand after the ‘Big up!’ exhibition attracted about 15,000 visitors, including foreigners and residents from other cities and provinces, over the past 20 days.
The exhibition has become even more popular as a hot place among the MZ generation through word of mouth on social networking services (SNS).
With this extension, the city has prepared an additional citizen participation event. On the 26th, from 6 PM for two hours, a pop-up viewing event will take place in the front yard of the exhibition hall.
Visitors can spin a roulette set up in the front yard after viewing the pop-up exhibition to receive Busan City urban brand products and ice cream.
‘Boogi,’ Busan City’s official communication character, will also participate in the event to enhance the atmosphere of viewing and participation.
The exhibition is open from 10 AM to 8 PM and is free for everyone. However, the external media facade, which is illuminated at night, will operate until 11 PM.
City spokesperson Na Yoonbin stated, “To make Busan’s new urban brand loved and enjoyed worldwide like New York’s ‘I♥NY’ or Porto’s ‘PORTO,’ our city will continue to promote communication with citizens through promotional activities such as this pop-up exhibition.”
