President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 11th instructed, regarding the damage caused by Typhoon Khanun, the 6th typhoon of the year, "Make sure to provide swift and sufficient support to the affected citizens and prepare measures to meticulously assist the disaster victims so that they do not experience any inconvenience."

President Yoon made these remarks after receiving a report on the overall damage caused by Typhoon Khanun from Lee Sang-min, Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, earlier that morning, according to a written briefing by presidential spokesperson Lee Do-woon.

President Yoon stated, "Despite the crisis situation where the typhoon unusually passed directly over the Korean Peninsula and moved slowly, the fact that we were able to minimize casualties was largely due to proactive measures such as evacuating more than 15,000 residents from dangerous areas in advance and preemptively controlling over 2,400 hazardous locations including underground roads."

He also reiterated that preemptive control of dangerous areas and prior evacuation during disaster situations are the most fundamental principles of disaster response.

President Yoon further praised the efforts of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, police, fire departments, and local government officials who worked hard to minimize damage through prior evacuation and traffic control despite the difficult circumstances, and expressed gratitude to the citizens for "actively cooperating with the government's measures."
