The 6th typhoon of the season, 'Khanun,' is expected to continue affecting the central region with rain and wind until the afternoon of the 11th.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Khanun passed 30 km southeast of Chungju, Chungbuk at 4 p.m., moving north-northwest at 31 km/h. The central pressure is 985 hPa, and the maximum wind speed is 24 m/s (86 km/h).
Khanun is expected to pass 10 km north-northeast of Chungju, Chungbuk at 6 p.m., reach a point 50 km east of Seoul by 9 p.m., and arrive 50 km north of Seoul around midnight. The period from 9 p.m. to midnight will be when Khanun passes closest to Seoul.

In the northern part of Gangwon Yeongdong, very heavy rain of 30 to 60 mm per hour is expected, and in Gangwon (excluding northern Yeongdong) and the metropolitan area, very heavy rain of around 30 mm per hour may occur.
Rain will fall in the northeastern part of Jeonnam until evening, while in the rest of Jeonnam and Gyeongnam regions, raindrops less than 0.1 mm are expected.
On the 11th, rain will continue until dawn in Chungbuk and Jeonbuk, until morning in Chungnam, until afternoon in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon, and until evening in Incheon. In the northwestern part of Gyeonggi, rain may continue until the early morning of the 12th.
On the 11th, Khanun is expected to weaken as it reaches 70 km northwest off the coast of Pyongyang at 3 p.m. As Khanun moves northward, areas outside the central region will gradually move out of the typhoon's influence from the morning of the 11th.

원본보기 아이콘Additionally, from the evening of the 11th to the early morning of the 12th, raindrops less than 0.1 mm will fall in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi. The expected rainfall from the 10th to the early morning of the 12th is 30 to 80 mm in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi, with some areas receiving over 120 mm.
In the central and northern parts of Gangwon Yeongdong, 50 to 150 mm; Gangwon Yeongseo, 50 to 100 mm; southern Gangwon Yeongdong, 10 to 50 mm; Sejong, northern Chungnam, and central-northern Chungbuk, 20 to 80 mm; Daejeon, southern Chungnam, and southern Chungbuk, 10 to 50 mm; Jeonbuk, 5 to 40 mm; northeastern Jeonnam, 5 to 10 mm; northern inland Gyeongbuk and Ulleungdo, 20 to 60 mm; northern coastal Gyeongbuk, 5 to 30 mm; Daegu and southern Gyeongbuk, around 5 mm. The northern coastal area of Gangwon may see over 250 mm in some places.
Strong winds will continue until the 11th. In Gangwon Yeongdong, the maximum instantaneous wind speed will be 20 to 35 m/s (70 to 125 km/h) until the morning of the 11th, and in the central region excluding Gangwon Yeongdong, northern Jeonbuk, and Gyeongbuk areas, very strong winds of 15 to 25 m/s (55 to 90 km/h) will blow.
Typhoon and high seas warnings have been issued for most maritime areas, with very strong winds of 20 to 36 m/s (70 to 130 km/h) and very high waves of 2.0 to 4.5 m. In the East Sea, waves may rise to over 6.0 m.
