"With Just a Boarding Pass and ID" Korea Airports Corporation Launches PASS Smart Boarding Pass

Can Be Presented Instead of ID Card or Airline Ticket

Korea Airports Corporation has launched the ‘PASS Smart Boarding Pass’ service starting from the 7th in collaboration with the three mobile carriers (SKT, KT, LG U+) at 14 airports nationwide, including Gimpo, Gimhae, and Jeju, for domestic flight users.

This boarding pass service integrates the QR code of the mobile ID (driver’s license and resident registration card verification service) from the three carriers’ PASS app with the QR code of the flight boarding pass into one. It can be used during identity verification procedures at departure and arrival gates, as well as for boarding gate and in-flight boarding pass checks.

Customers who have pre-registered their PASS mobile ID and completed check-in will have a QR code combining their boarding pass personal information and ID information automatically displayed on the PASS app if the information matches.

This service is available on Jeju Air, T’way Air, Hi Air, and Eastar Jet. Within this month, it will be additionally applied to Air Seoul, and there are plans to expand the service to all domestic airlines as soon as possible.

Yoon Hyung-jung, President of Korea Airports Corporation, stated, “We will continue to cooperate with the three mobile carriers to make this smart boarding pass service, which combines the boarding pass and electronic ID into a single QR code, a representative example of drastically improving passenger convenience.”
