Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) received the highest grade, 'S', in the '2023 Joint Evaluation of Local Governments'. This is an improvement from last year's grade A.

The Joint Evaluation of Local Governments is a system that assesses the performance of delegated national tasks, national subsidy projects, and major national policies. It is conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which announces the results.

The S grade is the highest grade awarded to the top 8 autonomous districts among the 25 districts in Seoul. Geumcheon-gu demonstrated outstanding performance in 'achievement of indicator targets' and 'efforts by the autonomous district', objectively recognizing its policy execution capability. Additionally, it received a financial incentive of 35 million KRW.

In particular, it exceeded targets in indicators closely related to residents' lives, such as 'performance in strengthening safety management of local government-commissioned construction and projects', 'utilization rate of national and public daycare centers', and 'self-reliance achievement of out-of-school youth'.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon stated, "I am pleased to deliver good news to residents as Geumcheon-gu received an S grade in the 'Joint Evaluation of Local Governments', which evaluates policies related to residents' lives overall," and added, "We will prepare improvement plans for the somewhat disappointing indicators and strive to achieve them next year."
