30s Urgently Arrested for 'Hyehwa Station Weapon Rampage Threat' on Danggeun Market

On the 5th, the Hyehwa Police Station in Seoul urgently arrested and is currently investigating A (31), who posted an online notice threatening to carry out a stabbing rampage at Hyehwa Station on Seoul Subway Line 4.

According to the police, A is suspected of posting on Danggeun Market around 9 a.m. the previous day, stating, "I will carry out a stabbing rampage at Hyehwa Station between 3 p.m. and midnight on the 5th," which constitutes a threat.

After receiving the report, the police identified A by tracing the internet protocol (IP) address and apprehended him at his home in Jongno-gu that morning. No weapons were found at the residence.

The police plan to decide whether to apply for an arrest warrant for A after the investigation.
