A total of 130 rookie Jeonnam firefighting officers will complete a 19-week training course and head to the field upon graduation.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters announced on the 22nd that it held the "15th and 16th Firefighter New Appointee Graduation Ceremony" at the Fire School playground, attended by about 150 graduates and faculty members.
Graduation certificates and commendations were awarded along with a congratulatory speech by Headquarters Chief Hong Young-geun, and the ceremony was broadcast live so that family, relatives, and acquaintances who could not attend could celebrate together.
On this day, six outstanding students including Lee Seok-hyun and six others recognized for their contributions during the training period, including Pyeon Jong-hae, received commendations from the Governor of Jeonnam Province.
Following this, the representative of the trainees solemnly pledged to faithfully perform their duties as public servants to the people.
The newly appointed officers, who entered training on February 13, will complete the 19-week training course and be assigned to 20 fire stations across the Jeonnam region as of the 26th to protect the safety of the residents.
Hong Young-geun, head of the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, said, "The sweat and effort the trainees have put in over the past 19 weeks will serve as the foundation for protecting the safety of the people and their colleagues at disaster sites," adding, "Now, please protect the lives and property of the people in actual disaster situations, not just in training."
Meanwhile, during the training period, 80% of the entire education was expanded to field practical courses to enhance on-site response capabilities in various disaster situations, including live fire training, electric vehicle fire suppression, agricultural machinery accident response, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation emergency treatment.
