Students at Pukyong National University demonstrated the effectiveness of their classes by receiving awards based on the university's extensively operated 'innovative classes.'
Professor Park Jun-hyung of the English Language and Literature Department at Pukyong National University, along with students Jeong Eun-seo, Kim Ye-seo, and Hwang Do-eun, recently received the Best Paper Award at the 2023 Student Workshop of the Korean Association for American Studies held at Kyung Hee University.
At the workshop, the Pukyong National University team presented on the course process and outcomes of the 'Introduction to American Studies' class, which was conducted last semester using the PBL (Problem-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning) innovative teaching method, earning high praise.
Innovative classes refer to lectures that break away from traditional methods, such as those conducted by two or more professors or involving online learning followed by on-site discussions.
Previously, professors individually applied innovative teaching methods, but since 2020, Pukyong National University has officially established guidelines for operating innovative classes and has been providing systematic support.
