Yamashita Tomohisa's Visit to Korea: "Korea-Japan Collaboration, Beyond Language and Culture into One" (Comprehensive)

"I like Korean food."

Actor Yamashita Tomohisa (38), who came to Korea with a heart-wrenching love movie, said this in fluent Korean.

On the afternoon of the 22nd, Yamashita Tomohisa greeted at the press conference held at the InterContinental COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul for the movie 'See Hear Love', saying, "I am happy to come to Korea after a long time."

When asked if he had any favorite Korean dishes that day, Yamashita caught attention by naming Samgyetang, Galbitang, and Kimchi Jjigae in fluent Korean. He expressed his affection by saying, "These are dishes I enjoy eating even when I return to Japan."

Yamashita said, "Every time I come to Korea, I learn many things such as fashion and music." He added, "I am happy to meet fans after a long time and had a great time."

'See Hear Love', adapted from the webtoon 'Boji Motgo Deutji Motgo Saranghae' (Not Seeing, Not Hearing, Loving), was directed by Lee Jae-han, who also directed 'A Moment to Remember' (2004) and 'Operation Chromite' (2016).

The film tells the story of Shinji, a male webtoon artist who becomes visually impaired, meeting Hibiki, a woman with congenital hearing impairment, and feeling true love and hope. It was released on Prime Video on the 9th.

Yamashita emphasized, "It is not a simple love story. Shinji loses his sight, and Hibiki has a hearing disability. The point is how they nurture their love." He added, "Please watch their passionate love story."

Araki Yuko, who co-starred as the female lead, said, "It is important how two people with significant physical disabilities accept them."

She continued, "While acting out the power of love that overcomes disabilities and the aspect of consideration, I felt a lot."

The film was completed through a Korea-Japan joint production. Yamashita said, "The Korean staff gave a lot of encouragement and support." He added, "Everyone gave their all for a good work."

He said, "Through this work, we aimed to express hidden human love beyond the languages and cultures of the two countries. I hope it reaches many viewers."

Araki Yuko said, "Even though the countries are different, the staff all shared the same heart," adding, "There was only a slight difference in how lenses were used, but through unity for the work, we felt a sense of oneness."
