Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) will sign a consignment agreement with Gyeonggi Province on the 22nd for the 'Pilot Project to Revitalize Communities in Existing Public Rental Housing.'

The community revitalization pilot project is a program that analyzes the current status of community operations and conducts resident perception surveys to develop and apply community programs tailored to the characteristics of each complex, establish sustainable systems, and derive detailed implementation plans for each target site.

Since April, GH has been conducting a research project to revitalize community facilities within existing public rental housing. The research includes analyzing the current status of the project and domestic and international cases, as well as assessing the actual conditions of community revitalization in GH public rental housing.

Based on the research results, GH and Gyeonggi Province will select pilot complexes. Subsequently, using a total of 900 million KRW in provincial funds over three years, they will actively promote the revitalization of community facilities within the complexes.

While implementing the pilot project, GH expects residents and local community stakeholders to actively create better living conditions, and after the initial settlement phase (pilot project), to establish a self-sustaining and sustainable housing management system.

Lee Gye-sam, Director of the Urban Housing Office of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "While community functions in private housing have been expanding recently, community activities in existing public rental housing remain insufficiently activated. Through this pilot project, we will do our best to support various community activities within public rental housing to strengthen communal functions and provide better life opportunities."

Kim Se-yong, President of GH, promised, "Through revitalizing communities within public rental housing, we will improve residents' quality of life and create conditions for self-sustainability, laying the foundation for residents to truly enjoy spatial welfare."
