The Western Gwangju Police Station announced on the 22nd that they have arrested and are investigating A (31) on charges of threatening and assaulting his girlfriend with a weapon (special assault).

A is accused of hitting his cohabiting girlfriend B (33) in the face and threatening her with a weapon from the kitchen around 1:30 a.m. in Geumho-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.


According to the police investigation, after drinking together, B left the intoxicated A at a bus stop and went home alone, which led to this incident.


The police have booked A without detention and plan to investigate the exact circumstances.
