As Part of Win-Win Cooperation with Local Agricultural and Fisheries Producers

The Italian bistro 'The Place,' operated by CJ Foodville, announced on the 22nd the launch of a new menu featuring Wando abalone and the promotion of mutual growth with local agricultural and marine producers.

The newly introduced menu is part of a business agreement for mutual development signed last month between CJ Foodville and Wando County and Jangseong County in Jeollanam-do. The first project of the collaboration between The Place and Wando County was designed to support Wando fishermen, who are facing difficulties such as sluggish consumption and price drops, by utilizing the region's representative specialty, abalone.

The Place creatively incorporated Wando abalone, which is mainly used in Korean cuisine, into Italian dishes to deliver a unique flavor. The 'Wando Abalone Risotto' features creamy risotto topped with butter-grilled, richly flavored Wando abalone and enhanced with abalone sauce for umami. The 'Wando Abalone Seafood Salad' combines tender and chewy Wando abalone with octopus, shrimp, and various seafood, along with green grapes and lemon vinegar dressing, making it a refreshing salad perfect for summer. The 'Wando Abalone Basil Pesto Pasta' harmonizes the deep flavor of basil pesto and savory cheese with Wando abalone. Italian sparkling wines that pair well with the new menu, such as 'Piccini Prosecco' and 'Reguta Cuvee Blanche,' are also introduced.

Sets that allow customers to enjoy the Wando abalone dishes more affordably have also been prepared. The 'Tasty Summer Set' offers a choice of Wando Abalone Risotto or Wando Abalone Basil Pesto Pasta, Ricotta Frutta Salad, Margherita Pizza, and two glasses of wine at a discounted price compared to the regular price. The 'Summer Sparkling Set' includes Wando Abalone Seafood Salad and Piccini Prosecco wine, available at approximately 25% off the regular price.
