[Featured Stock] Inometry Evolves with 3D CT Equipment for Battery Inspection... Spotlight on Supply to LG, Samsung, SK Increases

Inometry is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by news that the battery inspection trend is evolving into three-dimensional computed tomography (CT) methods.

As of 9:13 AM on the 23rd, Inometry is trading at 15,940 KRW, up 7.03% compared to the previous day.

According to industry sources, the three major domestic battery companies are reportedly changing their battery inspection methods from the existing two-dimensional X-ray visual inspection to three-dimensional CT inspection methods.

The 3D CT inspection device captures the inside of battery cells, which is difficult to check with the naked eye, and conducts a full inspection of the arrangement of the anode and cathode plates, filtering out cells with fire risks during the inspection process. Although the unit price is about three times more expensive than X-ray equipment, the demand for three-dimensional inspection at the electrode alignment inspection stage is increasing due to growing concerns about battery fire accidents.

Inometry supplies X-ray inspection equipment to the three major domestic battery companies (Samsung SDI, SK On, LG Energy Solution) as well as global battery companies such as Sweden's Northvolt. Inometry is focusing on 3D CT inspection equipment as a future growth engine. It is known that SK On is utilizing Inometry's CT inspection devices.

Inometry's CT inspection device simultaneously inspects four cells based on pouch-type batteries. It is reported to inspect two electrode areas for 4 seconds each. When converted to inspection time per cell, it takes about 2 seconds. This allows for full inspection in line with the speed of battery mass production lines.
