Sharing Economic and Eco-Friendly Energy Strategies, 'Cooling Expo 2023' Opens on the 17th

From the 17th to the 19th of this month, the "2023 Korea International Cooling Industry Expo (Korea International Cooling Industry Expo 2023, hereinafter referred to as Cooling Expo)" will be held at Daegu EXCO.


The Cooling Expo is an exhibition hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongsangbuk-do, and co-organized by EXCO, the Daegu International Heatwave Response Forum Organizing Committee, and KOTRA. This year, more than 60 outstanding domestic companies and institutions, including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Environment, the Public Procurement Service, and the Daegu Meteorological Administration, will participate to share economic and eco-friendly energy strategies in this specialized cooling industry exhibition.


At this year's Cooling Expo, over 60 related domestic companies and institutions will participate with a total of 213 booths. Technologies and products that enhance energy efficiency and respond to carbon neutrality and eco-friendly economy will be exhibited.


In the public goods sector, innovative products and venture products related to public cooling facilities such as "Clean Road," "Cooling Fog," "Cool Roof," and "Smart Shade" from the Public Procurement Service will be showcased. In the industrial goods sector, products from landscaping-related companies such as "Heat Insulation Blocks," "Heat Insulation Paint," "Special Packaging Materials," "Parasols," and "Vertical Gardens" will be exhibited.


In addition to booth exhibitions, business programs, an "Overseas Buyer Invitation Export Consultation," a disaster manager workshop, and special lectures by invited experts are also planned.


As part of the business program, a "Public Domestic Purchase Consultation" facilitating one-on-one meetings between central and local government officials, affiliated organizations, public institution representatives, and companies will be held on the 18th and 19th at the consultation hall inside the exhibition center. Additionally, an "Overseas Buyer Invitation Export Consultation" will take place, with buyers from about 10 companies across 5 countries visiting the exhibition.

The disaster manager workshop will be attended by about 100 disaster management officials nationwide. On the 18th and 19th, lectures will be given by Professor Kim Hae-dong of Keimyung University on "Climate Crisis, Heatwaves, and Response Measures," and by Professor Kang Hyung-shin of Yeungnam University on the water industry and environmental policies.


Citizens wishing to attend this event can register in advance on the "Korea International Cooling Industry Expo" website or register on-site on the day of the event to view all programs free of charge.


Kim Jong-han, Deputy Mayor of Daegu Metropolitan City, stated, "Through this Cooling Industry Expo, we will further develop active exchanges among experts, public officials, and companies to respond to climate and environmental changes and to revitalize the domestic and international export markets of the cooling industry." He added, "Above all, since various innovative products and response systems as well as diverse exhibits and consumer goods are prepared, we hope for the interest and participation of local governments, companies, schools, and civil society."
