Prosecutors Deny Extension Request for Choi Seo-won's 4th Suspension of Sentence Execution

Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil) was denied an extension of her fourth medical parole period.

On the 2nd, the Cheongju District Prosecutors' Office stated, "The Medical Parole Review Committee, after reviewing the prosecutor's on-site investigation, the attending physician's interview, and medical certificates, concluded that Choi's health condition does not qualify as a reason for extension."

Accordingly, Choi's medical parole will expire on the 4th.

Previously, Choi had applied for an extension of the medical parole period, citing the need for stable treatment of a lumbar fracture caused by a fall and a surgically treated shoulder joint area.
