The Baegunsan Guksabong Azalea Festival Committee of Okgok-myeon, Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do announced that the 15th Baegunsan Guksabong Azalea Festival was successfully held from April 29 to 30, with about 5,000 citizens and tourists attending despite rainy weather.
On the first day, April 29, various events such as Nanta, pungmulnori, a performance by the Southern Branch of the Korean Panflute Instructors Association, a performance by the Gwangyang City Choir, a popular singer invitation concert, and the Azalea Song Festival were held, creating an exciting festival that brought joy to tourists and citizens.
On the second day, April 30, the festival featured the Guksabong Climbing Contest along the Guksabong Azalea Trail and cypress forest, followed by a mountain-top concert at the summit of Guksabong, a nostalgic treasure hunt, and wild vegetable picking, providing a healing time in nature.
Jung Hyun-guk, Chairman of the Baegunsan Guksabong Azalea Festival Promotion Committee, said, "The Baegunsan Guksabong Azalea Festival has now established itself as a regional premium festival," adding, "We hope it will become a festival that attracts people nationwide beyond the region as the years go by."
