"Hyundai Motor Sells 336,212 Units in April, Up 8.5% Year-on-Year"

Domestic 12.2%, Overseas 7.6% Both Increased

Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 2nd that it recorded sales of 336,212 units in April. This represents an 8.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Both domestic sales and overseas sales increased, by 12.2% and 7.6% respectively.


Domestic sales amounted to 66,660 units. The best-selling model was the Grandeur with 9,997 units sold. Following were the Porter with 9,068 units and the Avante with 5,278 units, ranking second and third. By vehicle type, recreational vehicles (RVs) led with 21,349 units. Specifically, the Palisade sold 4,096 units, Santa Fe 2,774 units, Ioniq 5 2,123 units, Tucson 4,112 units, Kona 4,048 units, and Casper 3,420 units.

Sedans, including the Grandeur and Avante, sold 18,823 units (including 1,316 units of the Ioniq 6 and 2,232 units of the Sonata). Genesis sold 12,187 units, with the G90 at 1,023 units, G80 at 4,573 units, GV80 at 2,916 units, and GV70 at 2,766 units.


Additionally, the Staria sold 3,407 units, and medium-to-large buses and trucks sold 1,826 units.


In overseas markets, 269,552 units were sold.


A Hyundai Motor Company official stated, "We will continue to introduce new models with excellent product competitiveness, such as the fully redesigned Santa Fe and the first high-performance electric vehicle Ioniq 5 N, to expand our market share. We will soon begin domestic sales of The All-New Kona EV, launched last month, and actively promote global sales of the Ioniq 6 in the US, Europe, and other markets, leading the electric vehicle market."


He added, "We will actively respond to the uncertain business environment by maximizing production and sales optimization to resolve high waiting demand and improving the mix centered on high value-added models."
