NHN Commerce Signs Business Agreement with Chinese Commerce Platform 'Kitao'

Support for Expanding Chinese Market Access for Small and Medium E-commerce Businesses

NHN Commerce (hereinafter NHN Commerce) announced on the 2nd that it has signed a business agreement with the leading Chinese commerce platform company 'KITAO' to actively support the expansion of overseas sales channels for Korean small and medium-sized merchants.

Through this agreement, the two companies will establish a 'Korea Pavilion' within Magic Lamp and distribute leading domestic brand products. NHN Commerce will source popular brands among Chinese consumers in cosmetics, health foods, fashion, and more, while KITAO will build the consumer purchase journey including product marketing, ordering, and delivery on the platform.


NHN Commerce plans to offer new opportunities for Chinese market entry to small and medium e-commerce businesses using the domestic leading shopping mall solution 'Shopby.' Brands selling products through Shopby will be able to easily sell products to Chinese consumers through system integration with Magic Lamp, the digital commerce platform operated by KITAO.


Lee Yoon-sik, CEO of NHN Commerce, stated, "As a result of a two-week pilot operation linking domestic products, we confirmed a high consumer preference for Korean products, with more than 300 Chinese sellers participating. We will take the lead in pioneering successful overseas sales channels for domestic brands and small and medium merchants with the distribution know-how accumulated through operating our own direct export platform."


Meanwhile, KITAO operates the digital commerce platform 'Magic Lamp' in China. Magic Lamp is a direct purchase platform where Chinese sellers enter and officially distribute overseas products. It has received high praise from local sellers and consumers through an on-demand sales format that provides fast, customized services from order reception to product delivery.
