The Gyeonggi-do Jeonse Damage Support Center opened its doors on the 2nd.
Gyeonggi-do announced that it established the 'Gyeonggi-do Jeonse Damage Support Center' on that day at the old Gyeonggi-do Government Office in Paldal Mountain, Suwon City, providing comprehensive consultations for Jeonse victims, including real estate, legal, emergency financial support, and housing assistance.
Earlier, the province temporarily opened the center in March in cooperation with Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Corporation (GH) to respond to Jeonse damages.
As of the 28th of last month, a total of 172 Jeonse victims visited the temporary Jeonse Damage Support Center for consultations, and currently, 305 people are waiting for consultations after making reservations.
Before the official opening, the province increased the number of professional consultation staff, including GH employees, lawyers, and judicial scriveners, and also assigned public officials from Gyeonggi-do and Hwaseong City to reside at the center, expanding the total consultation and operation personnel to 25. Accordingly, it is expected to provide prompt and stable consultations for Jeonse victims.
The center’s consultation hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Victims should bring their ID, lease contract, and certified copy of the register when visiting. Consultation topics include damage reporting, legal advice, financial and emergency housing support guidance, etc.
Jung Jong-guk, Director of the Housing Policy Division of the province, said, "Considering prompt consultations and accessibility for Jeonse victims, we expanded and relocated the Jeonse Damage Support Center to the old Gyeonggi-do Government Office. We will make every effort to prepare effective measures to alleviate the difficulties of Jeonse victims and to guarantee stable residential and property rights."
Meanwhile, on the 28th of last month, the province held a 'Visiting On-site Meeting' in Dongtan, Hwaseong City, where many Jeonse victims occurred, to inform about government and provincial measures.
