LGU+, Targeting Industrial Sites with 'Smart Mujeon Solution'

LG Uplus announced on the 2nd that it supports smooth communication in industrial sites with a 'smart walkie-talkie solution' that provides uninterrupted service anywhere nationwide through 5G and 4G networks.

To this end, it signed a business agreement (MOU) with MDS Tech, the company that owns the next-generation walkie-talkie platform 'M+HyTalk'. Through this agreement, the two companies plan to expand the smart walkie-talkie service business to domestic industrial sites by combining communication services, M+HyTalk, and dedicated terminals.

The business agreement ceremony held at MDS Tech headquarters in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do was attended by key executives including Choi Seong-bae, Head of Enterprise/Large Retail Sales at LG Uplus, and Lee Chang-yeol, CEO of MDS Tech.

MDS Tech, Korea's No. 1 embedded solutions company, has accumulated 28 years of experience in supplying and developing embedded solutions. Based on this, it is expanding its business and strengthening the competitiveness of its solutions by entering various industrial fields such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, cloud, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR), in addition to the existing automotive, defense, and aviation markets.

M+HyTalk is a platform that provides walkie-talkie services (voice, video, text, data, control, location) based on LG Uplus’s nationwide 5G and 4G networks and dedicated terminals. It is used in construction sites where walkie-talkie communication is often interrupted due to long distances between workers, manufacturing sites where heavy noise makes communication difficult with conventional walkie-talkies, and logistics sites that want to conduct long-distance communication with branches distributed nationwide.

The two companies aim to further cooperate in developing next-generation smart walkie-talkie services and expand their influence in the market through joint marketing and promotions.

Choi Seong-bae, Head of Enterprise/Large Retail Sales at LG Uplus, said, "I am confident that the combination of a stable communication network and next-generation walkie-talkie solutions through this business agreement will advance the industrial walkie-talkie market to the next level. We will innovate the experience of corporate customers and industrial site workers through the synergy created by our cooperation."

Lee Chang-yeol, CEO of MDS Tech, said, "The future communication tools for work environments will be provided together with various work tools combining voice, video, and text based on industrial safety. Through this agreement, we will actively support this business to build a model that can accelerate digital transformation in corporate work communication fields together with LG Uplus and M+HyTalk’s nationwide partners (20 companies)."
