The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will operate the ‘2023 Student Self-Esteem Recovery Healing Camp’ for 40 elementary, middle, and high school students over two days on the 2nd and 3rd at locations including the Student Character Education Center and Hwamyung Arboretum.
This camp aims to provide students experiencing psychological crises due to prolonged COVID-19 and other causes with experiences of communication and empathy with others, helping them develop inner strength to respect themselves.
This inaugural camp is designed to support the emotional recovery of students facing psychological and emotional crises and to enhance their adaptability to school life.
Counseling teachers, local Busan art groups, meditation yoga instructors, Lifeline professional instructors, and food art therapy experts will serve as instructors at the camp. They will run art, experiential, and counseling programs for students, including ▲music therapy ▲body therapy ▲food therapy ▲forest therapy ▲group counseling ▲special lectures.
After operating this camp, the Busan Office of Education will conduct a satisfaction survey and plans to deepen and expand the camp in the second semester by broadening participation to include family camps.
Kim Beom-gyu, Director of Character, Physical Education, and School Meals at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “This camp reflects the proactive will of the education office to directly manage and support students in psychological and emotional crises,” adding, “We will continue to spare no support to help students improve their self-esteem and achieve independent growth.”
