Lee Jae-myung: "We Will Definitely Achieve 'Bold Change and Strong Unity' with Park Kwang-on"

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 30th, "Together with Floor Leader Park Kwang-on, we will surely achieve bold change and solid unity."

On the same day, Lee posted on Facebook, "I once again congratulate Floor Leader Park Kwang-on," and added, "The role of the Democratic Party is more important than ever."

He assessed, "The public's anxiety and dissatisfaction with the incompetent government and ruling party's administration are higher than ever. We have been suddenly thrown into a society of survival of the fittest, and the livelihood economy and national prestige are plummeting."

He also emphasized, "Park and I have been given a historic mission to join forces and win the general election to stop the decline of our society. I will never neglect that duty for even a moment."

Lee said, "I will firmly hold Park's hand and move forward without wavering. As Park said, we will surely achieve 'bold change and solid unity.'"

He continued, "As I have said many times, no matter how big the differences within us are, they are not as big as those of the opposition. We do not have the luxury to find and compare those differences. Only by overcoming this national crisis through unity will the future of our society and my own future, Lee Jae-myung's future, not become uncertain."

Lee concluded, "Especially in a democratic party, it is a natural right for party members and supporters to reasonably express their opinions, but if they are humiliated and their freedom of expression is suppressed just because of differing thoughts, discussion and debate disappear and only hostility accumulates. I will take the lead in protecting the dignified culture of the Democratic Party," and added, "I hope you will send warm applause and support to Floor Leader Park, who will lead the Democratic Party with me. Together, we will create the path of a united and victorious Democratic Party."
