People Power Party, "Song Young-gil: 'Not Mulgeukpilban but Sapilgwijeong'"

On the 30th, the People Power Party rebutted former Democratic Party leader Song Young-gil, who described the prosecution's search related to the party convention money envelope allegations as "mulgeukpilban" (extremes meet), by calling it "sapilgwijeong" (justice will prevail).

Spokesperson Kim Ye-ryeong criticized in a statement, "Was the reason for consistently feigning ignorance ultimately due to former leader Song's vain hope for a turnaround?" She added, "Despite the lawful investigation process, they absurdly attempted a preemptive appearance before the prosecution, and when that failed, they made statements and threatened press conferences, trying to mislead public opinion. Is this really their only intention?"

She continued, "The 'party convention money envelope distribution allegations' symbolize the moral bankruptcy of the Democratic Party," and criticized, "It is shocking that the old practice of receiving black money from businessmen and local influential figures and slipping money envelopes into back pockets still prevails. Moreover, the Democratic Party's response to this incident clearly shows why a politically morally insensitive force must disappear."

She conveyed to former leader Song, who said "mulgeukpilban," the phrase "sapilgwijeong," emphasizing, "Regardless of former leader Song's vain hopes, the truth will be revealed and justice will be established."

Former leader Song Young-gil reportedly expressed the position "mulgeukpilban" to the media the day before regarding the prosecution's search related to the party convention money envelope allegations. "Mulgeukpilban" means "all things return when they reach an extreme." It is interpreted as meaning that although Song himself currently appears to be at the center of the money envelope allegations, it will eventually be revealed that this is not the case.
